Common foot care conditions

 A cone shaped build-up of hard skin which can become painful and lead to complications such as ulcers and can impact on gait.

Thickened skin that has built up as a result of friction or pressure. If left untreated can cause discomfort. 

Commonly occurring on the soles of the feet or around the toe area. They are caused by the HPV (human papilloma virus) which is contagious through direct contact. 

 We can help to treat and prevent hard skin, cracked heels and painful fissures that can develop. We can debride hard skin, following use of therapeutic treatments and provide advice on creams and balms.

 A fungal skin condition that often presents as inflamed, irritated areas between toes and on soles of feet. We offer treatment and advice. 

 We provide advice on PF. A painful condition caused by stretching tissue on the sole. We advise and supply suitable orthotics which can provide relief. 

We use a combination of therapeutic treatments and advise on creams and balms to hydrate the skin   

 Can be caused by abnormal growth of bone in the heel which may cause severe pain when walking or standing. Can be helped by orthotics or silicone moulds to relieve pressure. Advice can be given on correct footwear.   

 Our diabetic foot health care includes a neurovascular assessment and nerve function test, along with an individualised treatment plan for future care. 

Referrals will be made where necessary.  

 Burring 

This involves burring back the damaged nail to expose the nail bed and allow a topical treatment to be applied. 

Lacuna 

This is a treatment where micro holes are drilled into the affected nail to allow topical treatment to reach nail bed. 

Oral Antifungals. 

Following a positive test and depending on severity a referral can be made to the GP requesting oral antifungal medication. 

 A reconstructive treatment for anyone embarrassed by existing nail problems or damage. Curable in UV light, it contains antifungal and antimicrobial agents. Used to reconstruct nails damaged by fungal infection or injury. Can be used as a prosthetic nail if no nail exists. 

Used to correct ingrown or involuted nails. Pedi safe gel bracing can reduce pain and relieve pressure and discomfort. It eventually modifies nail shape to provide a more aesthetically pleasing appearance and reduction in number of treatment visits.

They are enveloped in warm booties or mitts impregnated with wax allowing deep moisturisation and helping to soothe aching muscles.

Feet calm's body mousse is used to cleanse, and replenish your skins natural moisture. 

Warm flannels are used to remove cleanser and promote relaxation. 

An exfoliating foot scrub is applied to soften and hydrate dry skin; warm flannels are used to remove scrub. 

A nourishing hand or foot mask is applied with moisturising oils, and the treatment is enhanced with warm booties and mitts to stimulate circulation and soften dry, hard skin and any cracks to heels. 

The treatment is completed with a soothing massage serum to feet, legs and hands.
